Streamlining Salaries through Payment Credit System and Other Benefits for Pharmacy Professionals: Suggestive Measures for PCI to Implement

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has taken a significant step towards digitization with its new PCI portal. By leveraging this platform, PCI can implement salaries through a payment credit system, clubbing it with biometric authentication. This article outlines suggestive measures for PCI to consider, enhancing the overall experience for pharmacy professionals.

Centralized Data Management

With the PCI portal, professionals have uploaded their data, including Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, phone numbers, email IDs, permanent addresses, certificates, experience, and workload. This centralized database enables PCI to track credentials, monitor API scores, and implement systems nationwide.

Comprehensive Benefits and Welfare

PCI can coordinate with colleges to provide benefits like ABHA, life insurance, medical insurance, pension schemes, PF (provident fund scheme), increments, and gratuity. This comprehensive support system will be widely accepted by teaching professionals, uniting teaching practices under one umbrella.

Faculty Management and Development

The PCI portal has already taken over faculty joining and relieving formalities. This digital transformation enables PCI to monitor faculty growth transparently, uploading their contributions. Colleges can be graded (A, B, C categories) based on infrastructure, laboratory facilities, and faculty strength, facilitating salary fixation and position maintenance.

Flexible Norms for New Colleges

New pharmacy colleges can be relaxed with norms, focusing on development rather than compliance. Maintaining institutions with lecturers, assistant professors, and associate professors can suffice for the initial four years. This approach alleviates the burden on college management.

Standardized Payment Systems

PCI can utilize the payment credit system to facilitate seamless salary payments, internal and external examinership remuneration, valuation of answer scripts, and other benefits. This streamlined process promotes transparency, efficiency, and accountability.

By implementing salaries through the payment credit system, PCI can revolutionize the pharmacy profession. The suggestive measures outlined above can enhance the overall experience for pharmacy professionals, promote transparency, and foster growth. As PCI continues to innovate, it is poised to create a more streamlined, efficient, and supportive ecosystem for the pharmacy community.
